Bosch BCAI - AI Con

AI CON

The conference brings together leaders of AI in academic and corporate research under the motto “Corporate Research meets Academic Research”.

What is the AI CON about?

The Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence (BCAI) and the Cyber Valley research alliance organize the annual AI conference at the Bosch research campus in Renningen. The AI CON 2019 took place on October 29 and brought together over 300 AI experts from academia and industry focusing on the topic “Industrial AI”, the implementation of machine learning methods in products and applications.

The conference program featured keynotes from Michael Bolle (Bosch CTO/CDO), Max Welling (Professor Machine Learning, University of Amsterdam, Board ELLIS) and other speakers from renown institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University, Max Planck Institute and ETH Zurich.

Besides that, various industrial AI projects were presented in the exhibition area and a Poster Session with international abstracts took place. The award for the best poster went to Markus Lange-Hegermann from the Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe for his poster “Priors for Linear Differential Equations”.

News on AI CON 2020 will be published soon.

Remarks

Bosch BCAI - Director of the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems

Bernhard Schölkopf

Director of the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems

“AI is a broad field and it is going to affect different parts of the world and different parts of the society. It is affecting basic research but it is also affecting industry and it will affect our lives. It is interesting to have this kind of broader meetings that are different from the kind of scientific conferences that I normally would attend.”

Bosch BCAI - Director of the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems
Bosch BCAI - Chairman of the Board of Management of the Bosch Group

Volkmar Denner

Chairman of the Board of Management of the Bosch Group

“Ten years from now, scarcely any Bosch product will be conceivable without artificial intelligence. It will either possess that intelligence itself, or AI will have played a key role in its development or manufacture.”

Bosch BCAI - Chairman of the Board of Management of the Bosch Group
Bosch BCAI - Head of Marketing and Communications at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence

Christoph Röscher

Head of Marketing and Communications at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence

“Artificial intelligence is the technology that will completely change our work and our lives in the future. With the first AI conference, we are creating a link between research in science and industry to enhance Germany as a business location. The BCAI and AI conference show that it is possible to combine research at an internationally outstanding level with direct practical relevance even in established industrial companies.”
