I graduated from University of Stuttgart, doing my Master thesis within BCAI. The main topic was to understand and explain the deep neural networks’ behavior, in particular developing defense techniques against adversarial attacks based on the gained insights. I completed my Bachelor studies in Romania, my home country, in the field of Systems Engineering.

I am a doctoral student at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence (BCAI) in the field of AI-Based Dynamic Modeling. Prior to my commencement at BCAI, I studied Scientific Computing at Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg. In my master thesis, I focused on Gaussian Processes (GPs) in time series models in order to scrutinise the fitness and predictability of time series models when GPs are embedded. My research at BCAI will be on dynamic models with safety constraints. A key area will be on safe exploration, which will be based on active learning and reinforcement learning.

My research at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence focuses on the development of safe active learning methodology in the context of Real-Driving Emissions. Safe active learning methodology supports the engine calibration process by suggesting experiments that maximize information gain while satisfying safety constraints. The general guideline for my research is: recognize the application's challenges, develop solid mathematical methods in response and return tailored solutions.

I obtained my PhD from the Heidelberg university in interdisciplinary mathematics and collaborated with systems biologists and epidemiologists during my postdocs at the center for modeling and simulations in the biosciences in Heidelberg and Yale School of Public Health.

I am currently a research scientist at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence in Renningen. My research interest mainly includes discrete/combinatorial optimization. Recently I have focused on developing semantic segmentation methods via probabilistic graphical models (e.g., Conditional Random Fields) and deep learning. I graduated in 2011 from the University of Szeged, Hungary. I spent two years (2012-2014) as a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore. I worked as a PostDoc at IST Austria in 2014. Before joining to BCAI, I was an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow (PostDoc) at TU Munich.

My research interest include discrete/combinatorial ooptimization, computer vision, semantic segmentation, and image registration.

I am a research scientist at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence, working on deep learning in particular from the Bayesian viewpoint. I received my PhD in electrical engineering from RWTH Aachen University. After that, I spent three years at TU Dresden, working as a postdoctoral researcher and also leading a research team at Vodafone chair mobile communications systems. During my PhD as well as my postdoctoral phase, my research focus was on investigation of approximate Bayesian inference techniques from theory to practice. The main application area was wireless communications. Combining deep learning with Bayesian techniques is an exciting research field. Since joining Bosch, I have been aiming at assessing the uncertainty in deep learning with the aid of Bayesian techniques.

I submitted my PhD thesis in Computer Science at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and I am preparing for my defense. In my PhD studies I worked on computation of appropriate driver glance behavior for distraction warning.

My research interests are in modeling rational behavior and solving hard decision making problems. Here I am investigating techniques from both (inverse) reinforcement learning and (inverse) optimal control. Throughout my PhD I developed a strong affinity towards the application domain of assisted and automated driving as well as human rational decision making.

During my MA thesis, I developped deep neural network based algorithms to estimate human hand poses from depth images. About Me

Before joining the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence as a research engineer, I studied computer science with focus on software engineering and machine learning. After receiving the master degree I co-founded a startup focussing on time series analysis and unsupervised learning. Afterwards I joint Bosch as development engineer for automated driving. Currently I am working in the research group on environmental understanding and decision making, developing novel approaches for behavior planning based on reinforcement learning.

I am interested in bringing machine learning solutions in driver assistance and automated driving.

I am a research engineer at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence in the research group on deep learning, located in Renningen. I am currently working on deep learning-based methods to fuse, predict and temporally integrate the information of sensors, with the aim of generating a robust representation of the environment.

About Me

I am a doctoral student at Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence (BCAI) and the Institute of Signal Processing and System Theory at University of Stuttgart. During my PhD I will work on deep learning for multi-modal data, with a large focus on radar signals. My current research focuses on the development of deep learning algorithms specific for radar signals and will aim to fuse data from multiple sensors for autonomous driving applications.

I obtained my Masters (MSc.) in Computer Science at the University of Bonn with focus in vision and machine learning. My master thesis focused on a hybrid optimization technique for improving estimation of fibre ODFs (orientation distribution functions) in diffusion MRI by leveraging learned data priors to guide the optimization via regularization.

About Me

I am a PhD student in the deep learning group, working on the development of sophisticated techniques with an objective to generate consistent and robust representations from neural networks to defend them against the adversarial examples (the examples that are intentionally crafted with quasi-imperceptible perturbations to fool the machine learning classifiers). My research work is motivated to support the growth of deep learning algorithms in practice, particularly in safety and security critical applications. I am supervised by Dr. Volker Fischer at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence and Prof. Thomas Brox from the University of Freiburg.

I studied Masters (M.Sc) in Computer Science with a specialization in machine learning at University of Freiburg. During my master thesis, I investigated the influence of adversarial perturbations in semantic segmentation task and demonstrated the extent of potential harm invloved in using state-of-the-art networks for scene understanding.

My career started in Diesel Systems as a development engineer, went on to Gasoline Systems as a group leader and department head. Afterwards, I moved on to Chasis Systems Control and led a product group. My last assignment before BCAI was in Corporate Engineering where I headed the Bosch Engineering System elements Product Engineering for Software and Work-organization. In addition, I worked as a Leadership Focus Group Trainer in Corporate Engineering. I am a research scientist at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence, focusing on multi-modal deep learning and neuromorphic engineering. I received my PhD from Graz University of Technology, and worked as a group leader at the Institute of Neuroinformatics at the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich before joining Bosch. My research has connected computational neuroscience and machine learning, and my work on deep and spiking neural networks has shown the great potential of neuromorphic systems and event-based vision for fast and efficient processing of sensory signals. At Bosch, I am leading the European Horizon 2020 project ULPEC, investigating neuromorphic and memristive computing for applications in driving assistance systems.

My research interests include: spiking neural networks, event-based vision, recurrent neural networks, and multi-modal deep learning.

In recent years, deep reinforcement learning algorithms have shown astonishing performance on a range of challenging control tasks. Unfortunately, such results typically require cumbersome fine-tuning of many hyperparameters, which often proves to be notoriously difficult and time-consuming. Currently I'm interested in understanding the cause for this lack of robustness and in devising improved algorithms which produce more stable results. About Me

My goal is to make autonomous systems more intelligent and cooperative such that humans can interact with them easily and effective. The research I am doing for my PhD at KTH Stockholm works towards this goal by automating behavior planning, multi-robot task allocation, and mission execution, all while providing guarantees for satisfaction of a goal specification. Before starting my PhD, I did my MSc at TU Darmstadt and participated at various international robot competitions such as the DARPA Robotics Challenge and RoboCup. My master thesis, which I was able to conduct to a large portion at Cornell University, resulted in the open source behavior engine FlexBE, available for ROS.

My research interests include: linear temporal logic, multi-objective planning, hierarchical reinforcement learning, and semi-MDPs.

I am a founding member of the Social Coding Initiative at Bosch, in which I drive the adoption of InnerSource within Bosch as a Social Coding Evangelist. Over my ten year career in software development, I have worked in different technical areas from laboratory equipment to automotive components before I joined Bosch in 2011. I joined the InnerSource movement at Bosch in 2012, led my own Bosch Internal Open Source community and was part of the Social Coding team before joining the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence as AI-Enabling Engineer where I continue to promote Social Coding within Bosch. About Me

My research at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence focuses on network compression for deep learning and neuromorphic engineering. The high efficiency of brains sparks my interest in developing efficient solutions for complex tasks. I received my PhD in physics from the Heidelberg university, where I studied the potential of brain-inspired computing on an analog neuromorphic system. Before joining Bosch, due to my interest in computational neuroscience and neuromorphic engineering, I worked at IBM on deep learning designed for efficient low-precision hardware.

I am a research engineer in the deep-learning group at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence in Renningen. I have a background in theoretical physics, high-performance quantum chemistry, and the development & implementation of efficient algorithms. I support the group in the latter regard and I maintain our local HPC systems.

I am a research scientist in the deep learning research group at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence in Renningen. My work focuses on recurrent networks for autonomous agents and learning. Before joining Bosch, I received my PhD from the University of Regensburg where I was part of the Computational Intelligence and Machine Learning Group and did research on functional connectivity between brain areas on the basis of functional MRI data.

I am a PhD student in the Research team at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence and University of Amsterdam. My current work focuses on learning robust and transferable representations that can handle realistic, open-context application scenarios including domain adaptation, few-shot learning or even zero-shot learning, where models have to generalize to unseen classes that do not provide any training examples at all.
