The Bosch Group’s strategic objective is to create solutions for a connected life, improving quality of life worldwide with products and services that are innovative and spark enthusiasm. Bosch has been conducting AI research for many years. Over the next decade, Bosch aims to incorporate AI into many of its products and services, thus making Industrial AI one of its core competencies. AI will help Bosch to round off its IoT expertise. From autonomous cars to smart homes, AI will transform products and services and create new value propositions for Bosch customers.
By 2025, the aim is for all Bosch products to either contain AI or have been developed or manufactured with its help.
Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence was established in 2017 in order to drive deployment of cutting-edge Industrial AI technologies across Bosch’s products and services. With AI, we help Bosch create solutions that are „Invented for Life“. We are an international team of 270 associates from several different such as Germany, India, United States, Israel and China. By 2021, Bosch will invest 300 million euros in the development of the center. Using one of the largest datasets in the world, available at Bosch, we conduct cutting-edge AI research, apply machine learning to Bosch’s products, and services across various Business domains including Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and Intelligent Services.
At BCAI, we create Industrial AI solutions that are safe, secure, robust, and explainable. By collaborating with international partners, we are committed to fostering scientific exchange. We actively look for opportunities to expand our research network further and to collaborate with industry thought leaders. The company has now issued guidelines governing the use of AI in its intelligent products. Bosch CEO Volkmar Denner stated: “Our goal is that people should trust our AI-based products.” To further strengthen its position as a leader in Industrial AI and to foster knowledge exchange among AI experts, Bosch plans to invest 100 million Euro in building a Bosch AI Campus in one of Europe’s leading AI research hubs – Cyber Valley – located in Tubingen, Germany.
